These are unlike the real nightmares where you can't remember where you parked the car and have to wait until 2 in the morning when the parking lot is empty to find it? Don't ask.

once in juarez while playing one of my favorite biking games with a group of friends I parked my bike and lost it for a couple of hours...

the game was beginning on the outskirts of town and stop at every spot we saw a cruz or carta blanca beer sign. The people you would meet and the stories you would hear were simply amazing.

That day we went into a couple of dives and came out bleary eyed with everyone having a bike except me. Of course I was really getting razzed for losing my bike on a bike outing. Anyway, the last couple of too-kill-ya shots had me thinking that my bike was a horse and I could just whistle for it; so I walked down the street whistling for my bike to come out of hiding. At the end of the first block or so a group of Mexican cabbies were laughing and calling me over to their stand. After a few words, I discovered that before totally losing my mind I had given them some pesos to watch my horse, I mean bike.

good ole' wah-zoo...though these days the murder rate is through the roof and just spending time there can be dangerous...the last I looked it was over 1100 and that was in early october...though I am thinking of seeing pitt in the sun bowl so I might get an update soon...

Sounds like Dylan's "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues" should be playing somewhere in the background...

"When you're lost in the rain in Juarez and it's Easter time too...

Hey Earl. I waited for my buddy to come back after a Cal Expo show. waited FOREVER and finally gave up and found he had given up on finding me and had head back to camping hours before. Felt like an Idiot. Same deserted parking scene

Your response reminded me of a funny story...
At Buckeye Lake in 1991 (I think), we were back at the car after the show planning to leave the next morning. If you've ever been to Buckeye you know that the parking is just a big cow pasture and there are NO landmarks at all to help guide you. Anyway, we had been back to the car after the show for at least a few of hours - it was maybe 3:00-3:30 am - and we're sitting on the tailgate of my truck when this group of kids walks by and one says to another "I think it must be over here somewhere". I almost fell off the tailgate laughing.
Wonder if they ever found their car?

That was good! My sister once spent an hour trying to open the door with a quarter. She kept saying, "this IS the key if I want it to be!"

Someone finally showed up with the keys...
